Getting To Know Me From A-Z {aka the lazy post}

Everyday this week I have clicked that little pencil button and stared at this blank screen trying to come up with something to write and nothing. Nothing comes to my mind. I am choosing to blame exhaustion after 4 straight days of photo shoots {not complaining, I am completely blessed} I am seriously exhausted. So today I saw this fun little survey that Kelley did and decided that it was a perfect solution to my "blogging block"!

A: Attached or Single? As attached as you can get! {married}
B: Best Friend? I am blessed to have several "bests'' in my life! I could do a whole post on my "best" people but for now I will do my top 3!
Hubs, Little & Lauren
C: Cake or pie? Pie. But I don't like fruit pie I really only like Pecan or Peanut Butter Pie!
D: Day of choice? Hm.. Sunday. Because I get to go to church and spend the day with family!
E: Essential item? Just one? Camera
F: Favorite color? Turquoise
G: Gummy bears or worms? Gummy bears!
H: Hometown? Clayton,GA
I: Favorite indulgence? I am not putting a food b/c lezbihonest  I indulge in all food. Let's go with shopping!
J: January or July? July!!
K: Kids? Absolutely! I love those tiny humans and can't wait to have one of my own!
L: Life isn’t complete without? Family, friends, pictures and cheese dip!
M: Marriage date? 5-12-12
N: Number of brothers/sisters? One sister, one step-sister and two step-brothers
O: Oranges or Apples? Mandarin oranges!
P: Phobias/Fears? The dark! Not so much the not being able to see but the creeps that come out and do bad things at night. {yes I watched too much SVU growing up}
Q: Quotes? I am a quote junkie! This is always a favorite!

R: Reasons to smile? I have so many, I am truly blessed!
S: Season of choice? Absolutely, positively, 100% Fall!! Hoodies, football, festivals, all things pumpkin, boots, sweaters, Thanksgiving, changing leaves! I could go on and on!
T: Tag 5 People. Eh,nah. If you read this and want to do it, go ahead!
U: Unknown fact about me? I can burp on command, belch really. Loud, long, I can say things, yeah its pretty nasty.
V: Vegetable? Favorite would probably be cucumber but I love most of them!
W: Worst habit? Popping my knuckles!! I have huge sausage fingers because of it.
X: Xray or Ultrasound? Um this is weird. But preferably one day an ultrasound because there will be a little bitty in my tummy!
Y: Your favorite food? Oh gosh this is impossible for this fatty. I love my Granny's chicken casserole and grilled chicken burritos with queso and lots of jalapenos!

Z: Zodiac sign? Gemini!

Well that was easy! Maybe later this week I will have some sneak peeks of the shoots I did this weekend or at least something interesting to talk about!

I switched my Bloglovin account because it was linked to the wrong email account. So I will change the button and if you were following on the old one please do again!

Five On Friday

{img via pinterest}

Well it is finally my favorite day again, yaaayy! Doesn't this colorful print make you even happier about this wonderful day? As per usual on Fridays I am doing the Five On Friday link-up with April, Darci ,Christina & Natasha! I don't really have much today so sorry if this is boring.

{1} I am feeling extremely blessed this week, I am just so full it is oozing out of me! As some of you may know I finally launched a Facebook page for my photography business this week and the response has been overwhelming! I cannot express how thankful I am. To add to the thankfulness I am booked solid every day this weekend and even Monday! When I opened my planner this morning {after a mini panic attack} I literally teared up because even though it may be a lot of work I am just so happy that people think enough of me to want me as their photographer! I have struggled and prayed on taking this step for a long time and the Lord waited on just the right time to give me that push! So blessed, so so blessed!

{2} Do you come hear often? {insert creepy old man winky face} If you do you know that on my new business venture I ordered some personalized packaging. I posted the other day that my envelopes came well yesterday {a whole 5 days early, go UPS!} my envelope seals came! I had a horrible day yesterday and seeing these in my mailbox cheered me right up!
{seals here} {envelopes here}
Can't even handle the cuteness! Next time I will probably go with a darker font. My hubby so sweetly said, "Why did you only order 24???" and I told him I didn't want to get ahead of myself just yet! He believes in me and that makes my heart smile!

{3} Ever since my blog friend Pamela posted about her "Staycation" I have been itching for one! The hubby is using his vacation time to go to Charlotte, NC to help his dad and family friend build an addition onto their house next month. He is very sweet to do this but the bratty wife in me was secretly hoping our money tree would sprout up in the backyard and we could go on a real vacation, {pouty face}. Since he is doing that I decided to have my own Staycation! It actually works out perfect because my sisters move-in date for college is on a Monday so I am just going to take that whole week off to help her get settled and hang out at home. I see lots of unfinished craft projects getting done, yeah right!

{4} Sometimes you just need some inspiration and this week was one of those weeks! I found these on good ol' Pinterest this week and they just filled my heart bubble right on up!
{there was no link for this one}
 I have plans to turn one of our guest rooms into an office and these beauties will definitely be gracing the walls! Staycation project??

{5} I am a little bummed about something. Hubby's birthday is in September and I have been set on getting him Mumford & Sons tickets because they come to ATL 3 days before his birthday. I recently found out that the concert is invitation only and probably won't be open to the public. Ugh. But Miranda Lambert & Dierks Bentley are coming the next week so maybe we will do that! {I am always up for some Miranda}

Y'all have a good weekend!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I know everyone is sick of this commercial but it still makes me laugh!

On this beautiful Georgia Wednesday I am loving that my envelopes came! My cute little envelopes were even packaged cute! I got these here . Now I am just waiting on the seals!

I am loving these little cuties!

Last night I had dinner at Fish Tales with my stepsister and stepdad for his birthday. I tried shrimp & grits for the first time ever! *Gasp* A Georgia girl who has never had shrimp & grits, whhaattt?!?! I just never got the combination but I must say it was pretty good!

I am loving that we are getting closer to fall! {60 days is close right?} I look forward to fall all year, it is my favorite! Starbucks is obviously ready too because they had their pumpkin bread the other day, yuummm!

 I also can't wait to wear fall outfits like this one!

Finally I am loving the overwhelming amount of support I have received with the new Facebook page!  115 likes in less than 24 hours, I am completely blown away!
Thank y'all so much!

Well this pretty much turned into a fat girl post, oh well. Your girl loves food and this week I haven't really been on the healthy train. I am the worst I complain about my weight but then I have a couple days where I eat like ^ this. Ugh.

"Stephens with a ph"

WARNING: This post is going to be full of some serious ooey-gooey, lovey-dovey, mushy-gushy, I love my husband talk! It has been over a year (437 days to be exact) since our big day and I still feel like that ecstatic bride. On my wedding day I wasn't nervous or stressed I was just plain ecstatic! There were about 5,000 things that went wrong but I just could not bring myself to care because I married my very best friend. So this post is going to be all kinds of random ramblings about how happy I am and how much I love being married to The Furry Man (babies are amazed by his facial hair so I started calling him furry man).
See! Goofy, ridiculous giddy bride smiles!

Paul and I dated for quite a while before we got married so I really thought that our relationship was exactly what it was going to be but marriage really has given us an even stronger bond.

-We are happier in general. I feel like this is a confidence thing, that we know we are ours. No Paul doesn't own me and I don't own him but now I can say he is my husband. Not just my boyfriend or fiancée, there is just something so permanent about saying you're someone's wife (or husband). And yes I know in today's society "husbands & wives" aren't technically permanent but of course I will do everything in my power to make our marriage permanent.

- I still get giddy about my new last name! Yesterday the UPS guy came in and after I signed for the package he asked my last name. I said "Stephens with a ph", after that I don't know why but I smiled like an idiot thinking about how much I love telling people that my name is "Stephens with a ph".

- We are all kinds of clingy. Normally clingy is a bad thing in a relationship but I don't mean it in a psycho way. We just love being together and whenever we have to spend time away from each other we get all whiney and pathetic! We weren't like this when we were dating, we didn't talk constantly during the day, we didn't spend every possible moment together but married life has made us the complete opposite. For example he has to work tonight and I am all kinds of bummed about it. Serious kudos to military spouses and all those alike who have to spend extended amounts of time away from their significant others, y'all are all kinds of strong.

-No matter how bad of a day I have had I still get butterflies when I pull in the driveway and see his truck. And if he hasn't made it home yet I get sad, so pathetic.

-I took my rings off to do something Friday and forgot them at home all weekend! I had this pit in my stomach all weekend because I didn't have them on! Luckily I have a crazy ring tan line so you could definitely tell what was supposed to be there.

So even though he doesn't always clean up his facial hair and he leaves spit cups everywhere, I sure do love my sweet furry husband!

In other news!
The Ashley Stephens Photography   page is officially up and running! I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I was going to do and fighting the nervous lump in my throat but after lots of encouragement from my IRL and blog friends I finally did it! Thank you so much for all your kind words!

Weekend Shenanigans: Back Where I Come From

Hey y'all!
Well here we are on Monday again and (again) I am surprisingly happy about after coming off another great weekend! I am excited to tell y'all all about it.

Friday night Paul, Cody, Lauren and I decided to go to the drag strip in Commerce. Lauren and I really didn't want to go but decided to anyway, big mistake. We get out there, pay, walk in and before we even get to the stands it starts pouring. So we hid out under the concession stands for a few minutes hoping it would clear up. No such luck. After about 20 minutes of getting soaked they came over the loud speaker and announced that there was no way they would get the track dry enough to race so everything was cancelled! So we took our cold, freezing, annoyed butts to Cracker Barrel and called it a night. They gave us a rain check but I think me and Lauren will just let the boys go on their own next time!
sums it up
Saturday we had quite a big day. That morning I tried to work on pictures but someone just wasn't having it.

Then we headed up to Clayton for my cousins wedding. Fun fact, I actually set these two up a few years ago! The wedding was beautiful, the setting was beautiful, the reception was beautiful and the couple was beautiful!
After that we went with the littles (Megan & Blake) to the drive in! That is seriously one of my favorite things to do. I would rather see a movie there than at a real theater and you can't beat it, for both of us to watch both movies it was only $16!
We saw Turbo & Grown Ups 2. I love that they still use the old previews.
And they have funnel cake, what more can you want?!

Then we spent the night at my cousin Lisa's house. Seriously how cute is this guest bed.

Sunday we went to church, lunch with my grandparents and then went out on Lake Rabun with the Littles! Megan's boyfriend Blake is an avid fisherman (he even does pro tournaments) and him and his Dad just got a new boat so Blake took us out!
We also ran in to my cousin Heather & her bf Chauncey out on the lake (only in Rabun County) and they let me hop on with them and go wakeboarding! I haven't done that in probably 4 years and it wasn't as easy as I remembered, I am definitely feeling it today! After a meal at my favorite restaurant La Cabana (go figure) we headed home. It is not very often that I get to spend the weekend up there with my husband and my family so it was truly a great weekend. One of the best I have had in a while! Y'all go link-up with Sami so we can hear about your weekend!

Five On Friday: Kitchen Tables, Country Boys and Adam Sandler

Pretty much sums it up don't you think?!

Well it is time for the good ol' Five On Friday link-up. I know I have done a link up every post this week but sometimes that is just what happens. Today I am going to do my five on all the randomness that is buzzing around in my head!

1. I  have decided I am going to give my kitchen table, coffee table and two end tables a major makeover. I know, sounds crazy but it has got to happen. All of our furniture is just a hodge-podge of things that people have given us over the years and it kills me that nothing matches. But we are young, broke, newlyweds who cannot afford to spend thousands of dollars on furniture so I am extremely grateful for what we have been given. My husband rolls his eyes whenever I mention a project like this. He always says that we should keep it like it is and in a few years we will buy new furniture but why do that when we have perfectly good things that could look brand new with a little facelift!? I know this is going to be a lot of work but I am up for the challenge!
This table is what my dreams are made of. I am dying to do turquoise but I don't know if I can really commit to that. I love the chairs too.
love, love, love
As much as I love all of the color this is probably more along the lines of what I will do. I just feel like I would regret it around fall and Christmas when I want to change my décor. What do you think? Should I bite the bullet and paint it turquoise, or go with the more neutral choice?

2. As y'all probably know my sister is going to college this year! Now that she is finally graduated and I can talk about it without crying, I am so excited! I think more than anything I am excited to help her decorate her dorm lol. I may or may not be living vicariously through her since I never got to have the whole go away to college/live in a dorm experience but whatever!
I love how this one is styled but the biggest thing is the window with the pictures and the desk.
This is another gorgeous one. We are thinking about doing the shutter headboard!
I really like the curtains for privacy in this one.
{once again all images via Pinterest }

3. Y'all know here in the South we are all about some front porch sittin'. Well a few years ago I went to my old boss's house and on the porch they had a swing/bed and I fell in love. I could just imagine curling up with a book, a glass of tea and wasting my whole day right there on that porch. I told Paul that day that whenever we had a house I had to have one of these. Since then I have seen all different versions floating around on Pinterest and it is about time we cross this project off the honey-do list!
This is the one I was talking about, seriously how cozy does that look?! And that is my beautiful cousin Abby, we were at the house for her wedding!
I really love this one that I found on Pinterest

4. I know I shared one of their videos last week but the Jeb Stuart Band has gone and done it again! Y'all please take a second and listen to these boys they are just a couple of homegrown, insanely talented young men.

5. I know y'all are probably wondering why Adam Sandler's name is in my title. Well that is because he is filming a movie literally right by my house! It is a new movie called "Blended" with Drew Barrymore and they started filming in South Africa now they are filming right here in Buford/Lake Lanier area! I kept seeing on Facebook this week that people were posting pictures with him and saying that they were allowing people to come watch filming and Adam would come across the tracks and talk to everyone. So last night I decided to ride down there since it is right down the road and I got there just in time to see him pull away, dang it. This lady said he had just spent about 15 minutes speaking to everyone and taking pictures and that he was super sweet! One of their next locations is set up right across the street from my house so maybe when they move there we will go watch! I'm definitely not going to go all stalker on them but how often is there a movie filmed across from your house (well unless you live in Hollywood or something)! I heard today they were going to Gwinnett to film at Hooters haha.

Y'all have a good weekend!

Throwback Thursday

Well here we are again. I have sat here all day and just cannot think of what to write. Somedays I have so many things to write about it is hard to choose but this week I am a complete blank. So I am sorry for the horribly uninteresting posts lately.

I did see this Throwback Thursday link-up going around so I figured, eh why not! I decided to do a throwback of some of my favorite pictures from mine and Paul's relationship! Now I am sure there are very few people who are interested in these but it is sad fun to see how fat we've gotten much we've changed!
