Five On Friday

Hey y'all! I know I have been a horrible blogger this week but sometimes you don't have anything worth writing. I am so happy today because it is my last day of work for 9 days ! I have went on and on about my staycation so much that I know y'all are sick of me so all I am going to say today is that I am excited!

As always I am linking up with the girls for Five On Friday!

1} So I am a total "online window shopper". Is that even a thing? Well for me it is. I follow all of these insanely overpriced  precious boutiques online and make a mental wishlist of all the beautiful things I will buy as soon as my money tree sprouts! I rarely ever buy anything because I just cannot stomach spending that many dolla's on one piece of clothing but yesterday something happened. I got on Facebook for my morning scroll and I came across something that stopped me in my path. This dress was so gorgeous I just knew I HAD to have it. I even sent a pic to the hubs and he loved it too so I knew it was fate. I made myself think on it for at least an hour on it to make sure that I really loved it and of course I did. So I added it to my cart, clicked that pretty little order button and got hit with 3 evil red words out of stock. Um, excuse me?! Out of stock after only 1 hour of being live?! That is ridiculous. So I emailed them and asked to be put on the restock notification list and she so sweetly said that they would not be restocking it because it was a limited edition. *Waaahhh* The one time I decide to really splurge on something for myself and this is my luck! So I have got my super awesome friend Deven who just opened her own boutique (Treehouse Boutique) scouring the boutique fashion world for my dream dress. Yes I know it is just a dress and it is not even all that and a bag of chips but I love it.
this picture doesn't show it but it also has a slit up to the knee, so pretty.

2} I know I said I wasn't going to mention my Staycation again but I kind of am but only 1 day of it! I cannot wait for Tuesday, not only are we getting TV & internet that day {yaaay} but I am also moving my Little into her dorm! I am so dang excited. I am also excited about her DIY shutter headboard that we made {tutorial coming soon} and I reallllyy hope we can make it work!

3} I saw this video today and it has got me SO hyped. All I can say is GO DAWGS!!!!!!!

4} I have noticed lately after a long day of shooting that my neck is killing me from the weight of my camera. So I have decided that I really need a padded camera strap cover. I am thinking I can convince my Nanny to make me one or I might just order one of these adorable ones!

5} My little Hank has been scratching non-stop the past month or so. It is so bad he has given himself bald spots on his head and back. And on his tummy there are a bunch of little bumps some even get all puss filled like pimples. I have tried hot spot spray and the relieves him for a little bit but once it wears off he starts scratching again. Idk if it is something that is blooming that he is allergic to or if it is more serious and he needs to go to the vet. Any advice?

I just can't handle my little sweets looking all mangy!

Y'all have a good weekend!!!

"Staycation" To-Do List!

Now I know y'all could probably care less about what I hope to accomplish next week but I am really doing this for accountability. Only 1 1/2 more work days until my "Staycation" begins and I am so excited! Maybe if I make a list and put it here for all of y'all to see I will be more motivated to get things done and not lay in my bed stuffing my face watching "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" all week.

1} Catch up on my editing

2} Redo my kitchen table & chairs

3} Spend a day with my Papa

4} Catch up on laundry

5} Send my Cara Box!!!

6} Get Little settled in her dorm

I am keeping this list at 6 things for now to keep myself sane. There are a million things that I could put on this list but I am trying to be realistic here! The hubs will be in Charlotte, NC all week/weekend helping build an addition onto a family friends house so maybe I can get all of this done without him there to distract me lol. He wants me to drive up there on Friday for the weekend, depending on how much I get accomplished I may/may not go. We will see!

I know this is a very lack-luster post but I just needed my list in writing! Maybe tomorrow I can give you a more interesting Five On Friday!
P.S. There was a little hint of cold in the air this morning!! I walked outside and about squealed because even though I know we are not done with the crazy hot southern weather but that first little hint of chill means fall is a'comin!

Five On Friday

Hello there Friday, I welcome you with open arms! This week has seriously went by SO slow!
As always I am linking up for the Five On Friday. Check out the amazing hostesses Christina, Darci, April & Natasha.

{1}  After my crappy day yesterday I needed a little pick-me-up and this did just the trick!

Seriously.. too much cuteness!

{2} The other day I mentioned my recent obsession with avocado. Well I made the avocado chicken salad that I mentioned and it was DELICIOUS! I was in a hurry trying to make it before work so I don't have any pictures. But I followed this recipe, the only changes I made was adding jalapeƱos and I cut it down a little bit because the original recipe was too much for just me.  I will definitely be making it again!

{3} I mentioned here that I had something new and exciting going on this month. It is not anything huge or life changing but I didn't want to share until I was 100% positive I was going to do it. This month I am participating in the Cara Box Exchange! I am so excited about this opportunity to get to know new bloggers and I have so many ideas for my partner’s box!

{4} The other day I got this text from a recent client and it literally made me tear up. I am so so blessed to be able to do what I love and make people happy doing it!

{5} I posted here that I was really wanting to take a "Staycation". Well it is official, 2 weeks from now my "Staycation" is happening! That Monday I am going to be having an emotional breakdown  helping my Little move into college! The rest of the week I plan on working on lots of DIY projects, catching up on housework, editing and SLEEP! Oh and I will be watching TV!! Now I know most of you are probably wondering why in the world I am excited about that. Well it is because for the first time ever we got TV & internet at home! I know, I know, welcome to the 21st century but we were trying to be responsible and cut out any unnecessary expenses because we were super broke. So I am very very excited!

I hope y'all have a SUPER weekend!!!

That Kind Of Day...

Today I am really having one of "those" days. I am so out of whack today that I just drank a cup of coffee at 3 p.m., other than a yummy iced latte every now and then I don't drink coffee. Especially at 3 in the afternoon, old lady alert! It is gross outside, my patience is shot and on top of that I woke up this morning with a sore throat/earache so I am just going to use a few passive aggressive e-cards to sum up my day.

My morning..

Absolutely..

I want to..

Basically..

The solution..
And yes I know..

Tomorrow will be better but today I am a big ol whiny baby!

Avocado Anyone?

When I was younger I hated anything to do with avocados and I would not be caught dead eating guacamole. My Mom & sister used to slice them and eat them plain, I actually tried it once and gagged. But in the past couple years all of a sudden I can't get enough! I love avocado in dips, sandwiches, flatbreads and I have become obsessed with guacamole! So I decided to try some new avocado recipes I have found on Pinterest.

I know that avocado for breakfast seems a little odd but this morning I attempted to make this recipe for Baked Eggs in Avocado. (not very catchy but that is what the site calls it)
this was the original picture
This was how mine turned out! It was so easy all you do is remove the pit, scoop out a little bit of the flesh so your egg will fit (I recommend getting huge avocados so your egg whites don't spill over), pour in the egg and bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes! You can garnish them however you want. I put hot sauce and jalapeƱos on mine because I like a little kick. Overall it was pretty good as long as you can handle the two textures put together (it's a little mushy).

I got a double dose of avocado today! I have seen people everywhere raving about "BLAT's" which is just a BLT with avocado. So I decided to give that a shot today for lunch but with my own twist. I am not a big loaf bread fan and I really don't like toasted bread (weird I know) so I decided to put my BLAT on a wrap. I also left home and forgot the "T" so mine was pretty much just a "BLA". First I heated up my wrap and my microwave bacon (convenient for work) then I put the lettuce, bacon, banana peppers and sliced avocado on the wrap. Added a little light mayo and mustard and it was done! Quick, simple and super yummy!

Not very pretty but here's a picture.

Also on the menu for this week is Avocado Chicken Salad!

Yes it is a ridiculous obsession. Y'all have a great day!

Weekend Shenanigans

Good morning y'all! I am not quite as peppy this Monday morning as I have been the past couple weeks, I am tired today. Today I am linking up with Sami for Weekend Shenanigans!

My weekend was pretty uneventful but still a good one! Friday night Paul was busy so I was on my own. I did a little shopping and then on my way home I decided to finally go check out the movie set since it was their last day filming across from my house. When I got up there a lady told me that if I waited like 30 minutes that Adam Sandler would come and say Hi to everyone when he got done filming (she was a crazy who had been there all day everyday trying to meet the celebrities). Since I had nothing else to do I decided I would wait because who doesn't want to meet Adam Sandler? While I was waiting I ran into my language arts teacher from high school, turns out her husband (who is a coach and teacher too) got cast to be a baseball coach in the movie! So she was telling me all about the happenings on the set and all of a sudden this young red headed girl runs by and all of the little girls start SCREAMING apparently she was Bella Thorne who plays on the show "Shake It Up" on Disney. {You know you're getting old when you have know idea who the Disney it-girls are anymore} We were sitting at the playground which they had taped off for people who wanted to come watch and the cops came over and told everyone they had to be behind the tape. Then "the crazy" looked at me and said "that means Adam is about to come!" and sure enough there he came! He walked around the whole playground, shook everyone's hand and spoke. I got a handshake and a "hiya kiddo"! I thought it was so neat that someone like him would take the time after being out in the blazing sun filming all day to say hi to his fans. He really seems like a great guy! I also saw Drew Barrymore but only long enough for her to be ushered to her car under her umbrella, they say she hasn't been too friendly.
Saturday Paul was playing a golf tournament he does every year with his brothers, Dad and Papaw so I was on my own again. I hardly saw him all weekend! But this is how I woke up..

Puppy to the face! Paul hates that I let him in the bed but he is just so cute and snuggly! Then I spent the rest of the day catching up on my editing! Seriously how cute are these two! They celebrated their one year wedding anniversary yesterday!

That night Paul & I went to dinner with one of his best friends who just ended his engagement. We went to Mexican and this definitely happened.

He is doing surprisingly well but needed some guy time so after dinner him & Paul went fishing. {Alone again} So I parked myself in the bed, watched Sex & The City 1 & 2 and edited until my eyes burned!

Sunday I did the usual, church and hanging out with family. That afternoon I had a shoot for a precious little girl doing some pictures for her pageant portfolio. Let me just tell you this girl was a diva but not in a bad way. She was all kinds of spunky and boy could she model. I hardly had to direct her at all she posed from head to toe like a pro! She also melted my heart. Halfway through the shoot she looked at me and said "you are definitely my favorite photographer ever and I want you to always take my pictures!" her Mom then told me that that was a huge compliment because she had had several photo shoots in her 9 years! Honestly, I would not have cared if she didn't have a thing to compare it to because that was just the sweetest thing! Now I know this picture is blurry, it is a picture of the picture on my camera with my phone. Pictureception?! But I just had to show y'all what a little model this girl is!

I cannot wait to start working on these!

Well that was my weekend! I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Five On Friday: Sic Em'!!

Happy Friday Y'all!
I was off of work yesterday and being back today is making my Friday feel all funky, almost like a Monday. Yuck! Anyway, as y'all have probably figured out by now Fridays = the Five On Friday link-up with these lovely ladies April, Darci, Christina &Natasha. I really do love this link-up, it is the perfect way to "meet" new blog buddies! Today my post is going to be oozing a little bit of red & black so get ready!

1. Being from the South y'all know that football pretty much runs through our veins and I am proud to say that I bleed red & black. In just four Saturdays the Dawgs will be kicking off the season at Clemson {yuck}! I cannot wait!

Check out this stud on the cover of Sports Illustrated!

{2} With that being said it brings me to the second best thing about football season, gameday outfits! I don't get to actually go to as many games as I would like but that doesn't mean I can't dress up to tailgate or sit at home and watch the game! Luckily I have already acquired a few adorable outfits for this season. Only in the South do we dress up like ladies to yell like men!

Disclaimer: I am in no way shape or form any kind of fashion blogger. These are just some super awkward pictures my husband snapped in the living room. Also my hair is straight and that should be documented because it never happens!

This is the kind of ridiculousness that happens when I step out from behind the lens, I cannot take it seriously.
My Little* got me this outfit and I cannot even tell you how much I love it! The place she got the dress is actually a boutique that a good friend of mine just opened up in our hometown. Lord knows Clayton needed some style, you go Dev! If you are ever passing through Clayton, GA stop in at the Treehouse Boutique.
{* for those of you who are new here my "Little" is my baby sister not a sorority Little}
I have always wanted a floppy hat, add a monogram and you have my heart!
This shirt came from Papaya yesterday, I can't find it online but you should be able to find it in stores. The bow detail on the back is just too cute for words and it was only $15! Score! I wanted to wear it with a black maxi skirt but I don't have one so I threw on a black maxi dress I got at Dollar General last year {yes you read that right, your girl is a bargain shopper and it is actually my favorite dress!} and it worked out just fine!
here is a close up of my hat and the earrings my cousin gave me {I have no idea where they are from sorry!}

{3} Moving on from football.. I have been nonstop editing this week so I thought I would share a few of the different shots I finished!

{4} Paul & I are currently facing a pretty tough trial. No worries, it's nothing to do with our marriage. It is just something that is really affecting us and only the closest people to us know about it. I know that God has a plan for everything but I am having a hard time being patient right now! So I am constantly praying for strength and patience these days so y'all keep us in your prayers tonight! Meanwhile I will be working on doing this because He is the one in control, not me.

{5} On a lighter note, I have something very exciting that I am participating in this month! I am really excited to see how it goes and share it with y'all. But for now I can't tell you what it is, stay tuned this month to find out!

Y'all have a good weekend and go link up to tell us what is on your mind today!
