What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm baaacckk!!!
I know it has only been a week but it feels like forever since I blogged. It has been a very long, exhausting week and I just haven't had anything captivating to write about. No one wants to hear about revolting delicious hospital cuisine or drainage tubes so I decided to wait until there was something a little more positive talk about!

So I have decided to link up with Jamie at This Kind Of Love for What I'm Loving Wednesday!

The first thing I am loving is that my Little is recovering like a champ! She is one week post surgery and the surgeon said she is doing better than any patient he has ever performed this procedure on. That just makes me so happy! Let me try to explain to y'all the surgery she had, I am no doctor so I will try and get this right. The condyles in her temporomandibular joint were deteriorating causing her chin to recede, extreme pain and headaches. (You know when people say they have TMJ when their jaw pops? Well it is really called TMD it is a disorder of the temporomandibular joint and that joint is what is abbreviated TMJ.) So this was pretty much a severe form of TMD from what I understand. They put all kinds of rods and plates in to stop the deterioration and support her chin and here is a picture of pre-op and day 6 post-op!
look at that pretty chin!!

Next, I am loving my new planner! I am the farthest thing from organized but when I was planning our wedding this wedding planner saved my life. So I decided when I saw this cute one at Target that I would make an attempt at being more organized in my everyday life! Not only is it super cute, it was cheap and I am going to get my Gran to monogram it for me!

Speaking of my chevron/monogram obsessions here are a few more things that fall in those categories that I am loving!
my new phone case from here
all of these cuties at Hobby Lobby

I am loving that it is raining today so I get to wear my pretty red rain boots. Although I am sure halfway through the day the sun will come out so I look like a fool. Whatevs. And yes I included the spot on the porch where our gutter leaks for dramatic effect.

I am loving that tomorrow is 4th of July!! I am not loving that I haven't had time to throw some red, white & blue awesomeness around my house but I think I will definitely have to give these cuties a shot for our annual family 4th of July cookout this weekend! I think I will put them in a mason jar with a sparkler just for fun! And the second one is my outfit inspiration for the party, maybe I can pull it off!

And last of all are some adorable chalk board prints that I am dying to get my hands on from J&Paper . Most everyone knows Jessica & her beautiful daughter Harper from her amazing blog Little Baby Garvin, I have been following her for I don't even know how long and they are the coolest mother/daughter duo out there! So when she started selling her chalk board art I was too excited and I just have to at least these three!
I know this is a very long post but hey I had a whole week to make up for! Make sure you go over and link-in to talk about what you're loving this dreary Wednesday!

My New Home: The Hospital

Well at least it feels like hospitals have become my home since that is where I have spent the majority of the past three days!

Luckily this time I am not the patient. Monday night my sister-in-law Kaley had her beautiful baby boy after four days of labor!  Seriously y'all he is soooo beautiful!
Everyone meet Branson Todd Stephens all 9lb 15oz & 22in of him!! Boy is a hoss!

I just love all those first day details the fuzzy hair & wrinkly hands get me everytime!

He already has the best expressions!!!
I love you so much already (not so) little man!!

Today on the other hand is not such a joyful visit. My little sister had to have a very extensive jaw surgery today so I have been camped out at Egleston since 6 a.m. needless to say I am exhausted!! Anyone who knows me knows that seeing my little in pain breaks every little piece of my heart but everything went great she is resting at the moment. It is definitely going to be a long night but hopefully she will get some sleep and I will too.

So I am sorry for the poor quality of this post but it is coming from my iPhone and very very little sleep! I know I missed a link up in a series I was doing today but I'm just gonna have to do it when I can get back to normal!

Later y'all!!

Catch Up!

Well I know I said a while ago that I was going to do a post about Megan (my little sister) and Blake's (her boyfriend) graduation party that I threw but I got so busy doing link-ups I almost forgot! So I will keep it short and sweet today with a post about that.

Anyone who knows me knows that my Little (that's what I call her) is my world. We have always been close but after my Mom passed we really became fused together. She's like my own and her graduation was way harder on me than it was on her or anyone else but I wanted to make it special for her. Her birthday is December 26th meaning she never gets a birthday party so what better excuse for a big party than her graduation!  And despite some predictable Georgia showers we had a great time!
I tried to incorporate plenty of gender neutral colors and activities.
It was an afternoon party so I just planned for finger foods and light snacks. I am beyond obsessed with mason jars and these Paper Straws from Target! I also did the same shooters that we did for Kaley's baby shower except I went for old fashioned banana pudding and left out the chocolate & coconut. They were a big hit just like last time, so cute & delicious! I am kind of a sucker for coordinating the food & details with my theme, cheesy I know but hey what can I say it makes me happy.

The cake was absolutely precious! My Aunt made it, she is just so incredibly talented it looked and tasted better than anything I would've ordered from any bakery! I made Megan & Blake each a brag book from CVS with pictures from Graduation and had the party guests write them messages on the backs of the pages, something sweet for them to keep!
you've gotta have some fun photo props

 I wanted the balloon release to symbolize them letting go of them go of one chapter of their lives & opening a new one! {I know cheese factor is out the roof but whatever it looks cute}
I am so proud of you two and I cannot wait to see what amazing things you have in store for your futures!
